Retail should grow 1.8% by the end of the year, according to CNC
Sales volume, reduction of interest and improvement in employment made the CNC revise rate from 1.6% to 1.8%. Understand why this happened.
High of 4.4% in July sales has made the review of retail growth seem a little more exciting than expected. According to the Monthly Survey of Commerce, the sector is expected to grow 1.8% against the 1.6% previously expected.
June boosted sales and made the second quarter of the year the best of retail since the last three months of 2014. All 10 segments that make up the expanded retail sector grew in relation to the same month of the previous year, a fact that had not happened since April 2014 .
Highlights
The segment of furniture and household appliances was the one that grew the most, registering a 12.7% increase. Construction materials (7%) and office equipment and computer equipment (5.1%) closed the top of the ranking of the highlights segments.
Another highlight is the regional increases. According to the survey, only four regions had negative variations compared to June 2016, which had not happened since 2014.
Among the states that stood out the most were Santa Catarina (12.1%), Rio Grande do Sul (8.1%) and Amazonas (6.4%).
Justification
The National Confederation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC) justified the improvement due to lower interest rates and an increase in the number of employees.
